CASA GRANDE, Ariz. – Eight goals from Elijah Rice were the highlight of two dominant wins for Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy U-17/18 over the weekend, who swept Strikers FC with a pair of dominant 10-1 and 3-0 victories in U.S. Soccer Development Academy play.

In Saturday’s game, Rice accomplished the almost unthinkable feat of scoring a hat trick in both halves of the game, fueling a 10-1 RSL-AZ U-17/18 win. Goals from Danny Moreno, Gavino Carranza, Jesus Avelar and a Strikers own goal combined with Rice’s six to cap off the win.

While not as dominant as Saturday’s performance, RSL-AZ still managed to romp their way to a 3-0 win on Sunday, with David Ramos opening the scoring from the penalty spot and Rice notching two more goals to bring his weekend total to eight and season total to 13 goals.

Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy (6-1-2) move up to first place in the Southwest Division and #7 in the USSDA with their two wins over Strikers FC. RSL-AZ travel to San Diego next weekend for a pair of divisional matchups against the undefeated Nomads SC (6-0-4) and San Diego Surf (1-2-5).
