Barça Residency Academy is a founding member of the MLS Next league and competes against the highest caliber of youth academies in North America. Founded by Major League Soccer, MLS Next is the premier youth player development league in North America that provides players with the highest level of competition, training, and personal development opportunities on and off the field.
Barça Residency Academy is a member of the Elite Academy League, a top national platform with a standards-based league giving clubs the ability to provide a full developmental model and pathway with top competition and exposure.
Barça Residency Academy’s MLS Next and Elite Academy teams also compete in three seasonal leagues: the UPSL, USL Academy, and the Arizona Premier League.
The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is an American professional development league that provides older Barça Residency Academy teams a platform to compete against professional talent and competition. The USL Academy is an elite youth platform that provides top-level competition, exposure, and a pathway to USL professional teams.
Tryouts are required to be amongst the most elite soccer players in the United States. We have eight teams that compete in the U15, U16, U17, and U19 age groups in both the MLS Next and Elite Academy leagues.
Our coaching staff includes top FC Barcelona coaches and is nationally and internationally recognized for their professional playing and coaching careers at the highest levels collegiately, professionally, and internationally. They are committed and dedicated to providing superior youth development, training, and coaching for our student-athletes.
Alongside our exceptional top-level coaching staff, we offer more than 150 Grande Sports World employees who support the student-athletes and help them achieve and maintain elite levels of performance.
Having fun and staying busy is easy when you live on our award-winning campus Barça Residency Academy students are friendly, diverse, creative, and eager to reach their next level. The entire campus has wifi and every dorm room is equipped with a flat-screen TV. Our community game area includes a pool table, ping pong tables, basketball hoops, video games, flat screen TVs to watch Champion League, EPL, La Liga, MLS, and Bundesliga League games. Soccer tennis, swimming, fitness, and playing pickup games on the fields are common activities when student-athletes are not on an excursion or community service project.
