CARSON, Calif. – Grande Sports Academy player Miles Stray and alumni Benji Lopez and Romain Gall suited up for the U-17 and U-20 United States Men’s National Teams over the weekend, taking the field in matches against Sport Club Orange County PDL and the U-20 Chilean National Team.

Miles Stray joined the U-17 USMNT for a training camp ahead of the 2014 Nordic Open Cup Tournament in Denmark and the third annual Copa de Mexico in Mexico City. Stray took the field for the second half of the U-17 USMNT’s match against Sport Club Orange County PDL, helping to secure a clean sheet in an eventual 0-0 draw.

The U-20 USMNT called in GSA alumni Benji Lopez and Romain Gall for the 2014 National Training Center Invitational, a four-team tournament featuring Chile, Australia and Bermuda in addition to the US. Lopez and Gall both started the first match of the tournament against Chile, with Gall taking the free kick opportunities won by the US.

Gall had a chance on goal in the 33rd minute, shooting from just inside the 18-yard box and forcing a save from the Chilean goalkeeper Brayan Cortes. Lopez and Gall were both subbed off in the 63rd minute, being replaced by Andrija Novakovich and Zach Pfeffer, respectively. Pfeffer went on to tally a goal and an assist, leading the US to a 2-1 comeback victory over Chile.

The U-20 USMNT’s next match comes on Wednesday, July 16 against Bermuda at 4 pm at the US Soccer National Training Center. Bermuda lost 4-1 against Australia in their opening match of the competition. Miles Stray rejoins RSL-AZ U-15/16 to prepare for their semifinal match of the 2013-14 US Soccer Development Academy Playoffs against Strikers FC. That match will take place at 7 pm on Thursday, July 17 on StubHub Center Field 1.
