LAS VEGAS – With a holiday weekend around the corner, Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy heads to Florida for the Development Academy Winter Showcase while the Elites travel to Nevada for the Las Vegas Thanksgiving Classic and Desert Premier Division fixtures in a jam-packed slate of games.
At the 2014 Development Academy Winter Showcase, each Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy team faces off against three out-of-conference opponents in a great opportunity to see just how they stack up against the best that the Central and East Conferences have to offer.
RSL-AZ U-17/18 (8-1-3) will take on FC Dallas (6-2-0), Philadelphia Union (6-2-3) and Capital Area RailHawks Academy (8-3-3) in a series of matches against top-class opposition. RSL-AZ U-15/16 (5-4-3) face off against the battery of Colorado Rapids (4-4-1), Houston Dynamo (2-4-1) and Everton FC Westchester (5-4-0) in what will be one of their toughest tests to date.
Meanwhile, Real Salt Lake-Arizona Elite spend the weekend in Las Vegas for the Desert Premier Division and Las Vegas Thanksgiving Classic. RSL-AZ Elite U-17 compete in the Thanksgiving Classic, facing Santos SFC, La Roca FC and Fallbrook Villa FC, needing to win their group or finish as the best second-place team to advance to the semifinals.
In Desert Premier Division action, RSL-AZ Elite U-18 kick off their season with a trio of fixtures against Sereno SC, Las Vegas Neon Academy and Valparaiso United FC. RSL-AZ Elite U-16 (1-2-0), who began their season back in September, face off with Colorado Storm (0-0-0), SC del Sol (1-2-0) and Scottsdale Blackhawks (1-1-1).
