MALVEIRA, Portugal – The U-18 US Men’s National Team lost to Sweden 1-0 in its final game of the 20th Lisbon International Tournament on Tuesday, finishing with one point from three games to finish last among the four teams in the tournament.
Following a scoreless first 45 minutes, Sweden’s Carlos Strangberg broke the deadlock early on in the second half from a Gustav Engvall assist to give Sweden what would become the tournament-winning goal.
Grande Sports Academy’s Sebastian Saucedo and Brooks Lennon both started the match, with the players eventually being substituted off for Coy Craft and Dembakwi Yomba, respectively.
Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy will next compete in the 2013-14 US Soccer Development Academy playoffs, running from June 23-27 at Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana.
