The Real Salt Lake-AZ Academy is unique in that it is the only soccer residency program in the nation that is affiliated with an MLS team. Twenty four players from nine states now call Grande Sports World home. This includes nine team members who have been selected to represent the U.S. National team for their respective age group. The Academy residency program will be expanding to 86 student-athletes for the 2011-12 Academic Year beginning in August 2011, and tryout camps will be held this summer, with some scholarships available for camps and the soccer residency program.

Tryout camps for 2011 Real Salt Lake Academy are held from now until July 2011.

During its first year, the Academy team achieved the following:

Runner up in the SUM Cup championship comprised of the 14 MLS affiliated academies held at the 2010 MLS All Star Game losing in penalty shoot-outs.
Won a team training trip to Zurich, Switzerland this summer courtesy of MLS, based on its SUM Cup performance.
Undefeated U16 and U18 teams in three matches each in the Winter Showcase tournament in Phoenix with 78 U.S. Soccer Development Academies participating.
Team members participated in the Real Salt Lake Pro Combine for the 2011 MLS Superdraft and potential MLS HomeGrown contracts.
Both teams will compete in the prestigious 2011 Dallas Cup.
