IRVINE, Calif. – The 2015-16 season at Grande Sports Academy kicks off this weekend as it always does, with Real Salt Lake-Arizona Elite competing in the North Huntington Beach Cup. This year, RSL-AZ Elite U-16 and U-18 look to get the season started on a high note at the 37th Annual NHB Cup.
RSL-AZ Elite U-18 will play the first official game of the season against Del Mar Sharks Elite (#12 in Cal South), followed by two more group games against FC Golden State Black (#8 in Cal South) and LA Galaxy South Bay Navy (#13 in Cal South). The 18 Elites will have to win their group or finish as one of the top three wildcard teams to advance to the quarterfinals.
RSL-AZ Elite U-16 kick off their season shortly after the 18s on Saturday against Del Mar Sharks Elite Barton (#111 in Cal South), followed by their final two group stage games against Strikers FC North McManus (#54 in Cal South) and Beach FC Morataya (#100 in Cal South). The 16 Elites must finish first or second in their group in order to advance.
