LIVERPOOL, England – Grande Sports Academy and Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy forward Brooks Lennon has officially signed a contract with 18-time English champions and five-time European champions Liverpool FC.
Lennon scored 51 goals in 68 games over the course of three U.S. Soccer Development Academy seasons in Casa Grande, playing for Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy U-15/16 and U-17/18.
Lennon scored 31 goals in the 2014-15 USSDA season, finishing in a three-way tie for most goals scored at the end of the regular season with teammate Damian German and Real So Cal’s Spencer Held.
“There is no question that Brooks would not be where he is in his professional career if he had not trained and played at the highest level with [the Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy] program,” said Brooks’ father John Lennon.
Brooks Lennon becomes the second Grande Sports Academy alumni to join a Premier league team after Josh Doughty signed with Manchester United last year.
“The Lennon family appreciate the opportunity to be involved with the top U.S. Soccer Academy program under the leadership of Ron Burks, Coach Martin Vasquez, Coach Freddy Juarez, Coach Mike Kraus and the entire staff,” said John.
The entire Grande Sports Academy staff wishes Brooks the best of luck in the next step of his career and looks forward to seeing his continued success both on and off the field.
