SAN DIEGO – Needing a win to keep their U.S. Soccer Development Academy playoff hopes alive, Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy U-15/16 came up big Saturday in a 5-0 win over Nomads SC, the first time this season that they’ve won by a greater margin than the 18s.

At the end of a back-and-forth first half, a headed goal from Efren Estrada vaulted RSL-AZ U-15/16 into the lead. In the second half, a series of goals off corner kicks from Jesus Garcia, Gabriel Mendoza and Josh Drack capped off by a Kris Fourcand penalty kick sealed the 5-0 win.
