GARDEN GROVE, Calif. – Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy head back on the road to Southern California for a pair of U.S. Soccer Development Academy games this weekend against Pateadores and Strikers FC while RSL-AZ Elite U-16 and U-17 compete in the Sereno Boys Club Championship.
Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy U-17/18 (21-3-3), having reclaimed the title of best record in the USSDA, have a tough test this weekend against the second place team in the Southwest Division, Pateadores U-17/18 (17-5-7). In the second half of the Saturday doubleheader, Pateadores U-15/16 (12-10-7) play host to RSL-AZ U-15/16 (11-9-7) in a key matchup between the lowest-ranked playoff team and the highest-ranked non-playoff team.
On Sunday, RSL-AZ U-17/18 face Strikers FC U-17/18 (11-15-3), who the Claret-and-Cobalt have beaten by a combined 15-1 in their two games so far this year. RSL-AZ U-15/16 then look to continue their playoff push against Strikers FC U-15/16 (11-10-8). The 16s beat Strikers FC by a score of 3-0 on the road back in September.
Back in Arizona, Real Salt Lake-Arizona Elite U-16 and U-17 take part in the Sereno Boys Club Championship against LA Premier, Sereno SC and Slammers FC in what will serve as a great warm-up ahead of the start of Arizona State Cup next weekend.
