Gusting afternoon winds disrupted the first half, keeping both sides from finding a breakthrough in a scoreless opening period.
The deadlock was broken in the 59th minute when forward Tate Schmitt was fouled in the box by Real So Cal defender Sam Strong, who received a straight red card for the challenge.
Brooks Lennon converted the ensuing penalty, giving RSL-AZ U-17/18 a 1-0 lead.
With the numerical advantage, the Claret-and-Cobalt controlled possession and dictated the tempo, keeping Real So Cal pinned in its defensive third.
Lennon added a second goal late in regulation, assisted by Schmitt, and completed his hat trick in stoppage time on a precise diagonal pass from Diego Silva, sealing the 3-0 victory.
