CASA GRANDE, Ariz. – When Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy took the field against the LA Galaxy at Grande Sports World on Saturday, October 18, $500 was raised for Susan G. Komen Central & Northern Arizona as part of “Grande Sports Academy Kicks for the Cure.”

Thanks to generous donations from the Grande Sports family, this money can help contribute to finding the cure for breast cancer and ending a disease that has plagued the lives of too many for too long.

A representative from the Banner Casa Grande Medical Center helped provide information about breast health services available in the local community while representatives from Grande Sports Academy distributed educational materials from Susan G. Komen.

On the field, players from both teams wore pink athletic tape, wristbands and captain’s armbands as a symbol of support in the fight against breast cancer.

The highlight of the afternoon came between the U-17/18 and U-15/16 games when the entirety of the Grande Sports Academy roster and coaching staff came together to make a donation on behalf of the academy (pictured above).

Grande Sports Academy would like to thank the following for contributing to this well-deserving cause:

The Duran family, the Osgood family, the Schmitt family, the Shrum family, the Zarris family, Berhane Andeberhan, Sam Cocharo, Lauren Crum, Rhiannon Hicks, Miha Kline, Christine Slesser and the LA Galaxy Academy.
