COSTA MESA, Calif. – After coming back from an early one goal deficit, Real Salt Lake AZ U-17/18 came back to score three unanswered goals before eventually conceding three of their own and falling on the wrong end of a 4-3 result against Pateadores U-17/18.
Sam Gleadle contributed to the team in several ways: first by scoring off a Moises Rodriguez cross in the 33rd minute, then by assisting on Eric Carbajal’s goal in the 36th minute and finally by drawing the penalty which Eric Carbajal converted to give RSL-AZ a 3-1 lead. Carbajal’s two goals marked his second consecutive brace and third straight game on the score sheet following Saturday’s 2-1 win over Strikers FC U-17/18.
Pateadores U-17/18 started their comeback right away, with Brian Pacheco netting his second goal only one minute after Carbajal’s penalty kick. Pateadores then scored twice more in the last ten minutes of the game to secure the 4-3 win and the three points.
Real Salt Lake U-17/18 head to the Pacific Northwest this weekend, playing Vancouver Whitecaps FC U-17/18 on Saturday, May 17 at Perry Percy Stadium with kickoff slated for 12:00 pm. On May 18, RSL-AZ U-17/18 play Portland Timbers U-17/18 at the Timbers Training Facility at 12:00 pm.
