CASA GRANDE, AZ. – Four Grande Sports Academy players featured in RSL Reserves 1-1 draw against Chivas USA in its first 2014 MLS Reserve League match of 2014 at America First Field in Sandy, Utah.
Midfielder Fito Ovalle was the lone RSL Academy player to be named to the starting XI, and contributed throughout the entire match. Midfielder Jose Hernandez was brought on during halftime, while forward Sebastian Saucedo and midfielder Corey Baird were brought on in the 71st and 74th minutes, respectively.
Grande Sports Academy graduates, defender Carlos Salcedo and goalkeeper Lalo Fernandez, saw action in the match. Recent RSL signee Jordan Allen got the start and was subbed out at halftime for Hernandez.
Academy player Danny Acosta did not feature in the match along with RSL signee Benji Lopez, who graduated from the GSA in 2013.
