U.S. U-20 boss Thomas Rongen called in 18 of the 20 players who will make up the squad to participate in the Torneo de las Américas Monday. The tournament will take place Nov. 21-29. In it, the United States will face Colombia’s U-20 side Nov. 26 and Mexico’s U-20s two days later. Both will take place at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. Of the 18, seven belong to MLS clubs and eight are based abroad. Omar Salgado, the 16-year-old who left Chivas de Guadalajara’s youth team to represent the U.S., will enter the 2011 MLS SuperDraft as a Generation adidas player. Rongen left two slots on the roster open for players who shine in the NCAA College Cup.
