Carson, Calif. – Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy U-15/16 is only one win away from becoming the first ever team to repeat as champions in the US Soccer Development Academy. A win against the LA Galaxy in their home stadium will put RSL-AZ in the history books.

After RSL-AZ’s (25-5-3) dominating 5-1 win over Strikers FC in the semifinals, Southwest Division rivals LA Galaxy (23-3-6) are the only team standing between them and a second straight national championship.

The RSL defense will need to keep their eyes on Dylan Smith, who leads the Galaxy with 18 goals this season. Another threat is Rey Ortiz, who has scored 15 goals and, more importantly, a hat trick to lead the Galaxy to a 3-2 win over Chicago Magic PSG in the semifinals.

Earlier this season, the Galaxy defeated RSL 2-1 in Los Angeles, coming back from a 1-0 half time deficit to win 2-1, with the game winner being scored by Jorge Ruiz in the 78th minute. In the rematch at Grande Sports World, RSL won 1-0, with a 74th minute Tate Schmitt goal providing the difference.

Saturday’s USSDA final kicks off at 4 pm PT at the StubHub Center. The match is open to the public and can also be seen online at ussoccer.com.
