On October 8, 2010 Soccer in the Sun will introduce a new 3-day 11 versus 11 tournament: The Columbus Cup. This tournament will take place at the Francisco Grande Hotel and Resort in beautiful Casa Grande, Arizona. This year six MLS teams including LA Galaxy and the Seattle Sounders used this facility for spring training. The amazing grounds at the resort contain six brand new, pristine full size soccer fields, a great swimming pool and a world class 18-hole golf course.

Only forty teams will be invited to participate in the tournament (twenty in the over 40 league – twenty in the over 48). Each team will play four 60 minute games (two on Saturday and two on Sunday). There will be eight new soccer fields in this desert oasis by the time the tournament begins. The Francisco Grande Resort includes restaurants, accommodations and great times!

Grande Sports World and Real Salt Lake Arizona Academy will host and train the Arizona Soccer Club boys and girls on June 5th and 6th at the Grande Sports World soccer complex. The RSL academy coaching staff who consist of Greg Vanney, Juergen Sommer and Michael Munoz will be instructing the sessions with special guest coaches from Major League Soccer Champions Real Salt Lake to be announced soon.

Grande Sports World will host its first Far West Regional League Match, Wednesday March 31, at 7:00 pm on Field 5.

Tucson Soccer Academy 92′ boys will square off against the Cisco 92′ boys from Phoenix, Az in a much anticipated affair.

The Far West Regional League aims to insure the best possible competitive play between the highest level teams in Region IV.
